Authentication & Valuation Service

My Haute is New Zealand's premium designer authentication provider, offering both an on-line and in-house authentication & valuation service to give you assurance when buying or selling your pre-loved designer handbag or accessory. We are the chosen Authenticator of New Zealand & Australia's #1 pre-loved designer fashion marketplace 'Designer Wardrobe' when they require authentication of a luxury piece listed on their site. We also offer authentication and valuation for insurance or selling purposes and work with insurance companies on claims, new policies and policy updates. We work with leading pre-loved designer sellers such as Exchange Store, as well as premier New Zealand auction houses, including time-honoured Webb's, and provide training via our 'My Haute Foundational Course in Designer Handbags & Authentication'. We are acknowledged by the New Zealand Judicial System as an expert in the field of designer handbags and accessories and we assist with the New Zealand Police to eradicate the sale of replica and to aid clients in obtaining a refund where a non-authentic item has been purchased. We provide supporting documentation if you need to file a claim with, for example, eBay or Paypal, or if you need to initiate a credit card chargeback with your local bank - and we can offer guidance in the process of receiving a refund in various purchase scenarios, both local and overseas.

We are not affiliated with, nor sponsored by, any of the design houses. Our knowledge is based on over a decade of collecting, buying, selling and studying designer handbag brands and we can assist with most luxury designer brands such as Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Saint Laurent. We offer on-line for a wide range of brands and models, however due to the proliferation of super fakes in the market, there are editions we offer in-house only for. Details such as stampings, stitching, symmetry, hardware, authenticity stamps as well as materials and overall workmanship are inspected and verified to be consistent with the designer's standards of quality. Where applicable, date codes and serial numbers are determined to be consistent with the item's production dates and pieces are cross-referenced in detail against authentic product and our extensive database.
Please note prices quoted below are our standard charges, for certain editions and particular vintage items, we will provide discounted pricing; please contact us direct for confirmation, as your item may qualify for this. For business pricing, please contact us at shop@myhaute.co.nz. Our standard turn-around time for on-line authentication/valuation, once payment is confirmed, is 48 hours Monday through Friday. Please note this is indicative only - we usually are able to have assessments completed same day and if you require urgent assistance, we will always endeavour to accommodate this where possible. The charge for authentication is: $125 for Hermès bags and $95 for Hermès accessory items / $95 for Chanel bags up to serial series 14XXXXXX and $115 for serial series 15XXXXXX and over and $75 for Chanel accessory items / for all other brands, $75 for bags and $50 for accessory items. The above pricing is for online assessments. There is an additional charge of $35 per item for in-house appraisals. If valuation is also required, the additional charge for any item is $50 for insurance valuation and $25 for value indication of what we typically see a model in similar condition listed out for on the open market by a private seller. Payment is required in advance and if we are unable to assist due to for example photo quality or insufficient photos, a full refund of your payment will be provided to you.
On-line and in-house pricing includes email confirmation only, which provides full model specifics, as well as a detailed outline in the case of non-authenticity. A formal letterhead certificate is available on request for both on-line and in-house, the additional charge for this is $50 per item. A formal letterhead includes full findings, model specifics, a portfolio of photos and a detailed outline in the case of non-authenticity. For all authentications and valuations we keep photos and full details of our findings on file. These may be re-confirmed by a third party or referenced at any later date in time when needed; including, for example, in the instance of an insurance claim, sale to a third party or for the purpose of dispute resolution.
We recommend photos are taken in natural light and that bags are filled to show their true shape. If posting an item to us, we recommend a signature required courier service, you may include a return satchel/courier ticket, otherwise you can view our return courier charges here.
